Meet the Owner: Marc Burns
Greason Internet LLC is owned and operated by Marc Burns, a resident of Carlisle Pennsylvania who moved to the area his sophomore year of High School. Like a lot of other students at Carlisle High School, he was also part of a military family, although not a "postee"- his father being stationed at the Naval ICP in Mechanicsburg.
During his high school years, he took an interest in building computers and web development, selling his first website to a local health care staffing agency that needed a better way to accept applications. While enrolled at Carlisle, Marc took vocational courses, studying Microsoft server administration (MCSA) and computer networking (CCNA), and graduating with his Diploma in 2004.
After high school, Marc studied Civil Engineering and Computer Science at PSU and Shippensburg University. Studying various subject matters in depth, he learned about programming techniques and design patterns, statistics, advanced mathematics, java object oriented programming, and other topics while continuing to work on open source web development projects he found interesting. He later left schoool to pursue a business idea with friends out West, but the venture was not a success.
Returning to Pennsylvania, he found work in the construction field, serving as a Data Technician / Electrician for many large commericial projects. He was able to build computer networks from the ground up for many Fortune 500 companies all across the Mid Atlantic and the US. Valuable real world experience was gained on how to setup and deploy computer networks, and the different strategies companies deployed to achieve their IT infrastructure goals.
In the summer of 2023, Marc was able to put his unique skill-set into good use, and started Greason Internet to provide an alternative to the poor internet service options we receive in our area. He spent the summer assembleming racks, servers, and got busy running electric, co-axial, ethernet, and fiber lines to hook it all up. Later on, he was able to configure the network equipments, and begin programming the company website, as well as setting up the various business systems (billing, CRM, VOIP, file storage, GIT repositorys, etc). By the end of Novemeber 2023, Greason Internet LLC was born!
When Marc is not busy programming in his office, you can catch him enjoying movies, reading, target shooting, hiking, wrenching on cars, and working around his home, where he grows a garden, raises chickens, and is slowly working to turn his 3 acres of overgrown woods into a food forest for himself and the local wildlife to enjoy.
